A Compressed and High-Accuracy Star Tracker with On-Orbit Deployable Baffle for Remote Sensing CubeSats

CubeSats have been widely used in remote sensing applications such as global coverage, hotspots revisited, etc. However, due to the strict size limitation, high-accuracy measuring instruments star tracker are too large be applied CubeSat, thus causing insufficient accuracy satellite attitude and image positioning. In order reduce volume of without compromising performance, relationship between pointing or dynamic performance is studied an optimization model with a minimum proposed. Compared traditional tracker, deployable novel baffle surrounded circuit structure designed. The consists nested three-stage sub-baffles scientifically analyzed verified taper achieve smooth deployment compression. special surrounds lens can compressed inner sub-baffle. Therefore, smallest deployed accurate position self-lock risk. experimental results verify its reliability well space environmental adaptability. has almost same on stray light suppression ability, (better than 3″ (3σ)) (up 3°/s) tracker. Furthermore, integrated determination control system based for CubeSat further designed implemented support sensing.
